Our mission

NetaCarbon’s mission is to mobilize investments in projects that protect and preserve our planet.

The carbon market will become a significant source of climate financing, capable of catalyzing substantial capital inflows to global climate actions. Yet, it has historically struggled with greenwashing concerns.

NetaCarbon is rebuilding trust in the system by repositioning the carbon market as an investment opportunity for companies to strengthen their brand equity and differentiation from competitors, revolutionizing how companies can address residual unavoidable emissions in the next decade.

By connecting corporate companies directly with project developers, NetaCarbon fast-tracks innovative climate solutions, accelerating climate impact and improving the livelihoods of hard-to-serve communities.

Who we are

Our co-founders met in Kenya while developing and investing in carbon projects. With their first-hand experience on the ground, they bonded over their frustrations on the existing carbon market. The founders bring together extensive climate experience in Asia, Latin America, and Africa, as well as top-tiered academic networks from Harvard and MIT. Our team shares the aspiration to democratize access to the carbon market for all.

Our name

"Neta" means "legit" in Spanish, as we take the lead in restoring the integrity and legitimacy of the carbon markets. "Carbon" is our engine to accelerate climate impact toward achieving Global Net Zero. We are changing how carbon markets channel funding to climate actions and ensure an equitable climate transition.
